Is bouquet preservation really worth it?

Preserved and framed bridal bouquet

If you’re wondering whether to preserve your wedding bouquet, you’re not alone. It’s one of the most common questions I get, and the answer depends on what matters to you.

Wedding flowers shouldn’t just be about the way they looked, but the way they felt in your hands as you walked down the aisle, the way they transformed your space, the scent of them in the room, and the memory of that exact moment in time.

So… is bouquet preservation worth it?

Here’s when it is:

  • You value memory over material. If you're the kind of person who collects shells from the beach and creates memory books and photo albums, this is your kind of keepsake.

  • You’re choosing flowers that feel like you. The colours and flowers you choose reflect you. Maybe because they remind of your garden, your childhood, or just something wild and wonderful you couldn’t resist. Keeping them helps you hold on to that meaning

  • You’d love to keep something physical from your wedding day, that isn’t overly ‘wedding-y’. A preserved bouquet, especially when designed thoughtfully, will become a piece of art in your home, not just a memento.

And when it’s not:

  • You’re choosing flowers just to tick a box. If the bouquet isn’t special to you, preserving it might not feel worth the time or investment.

How bouquet preservation works (step by step)

  1. Your bouquet is collected or dropped off
After the wedding, you can either drop your flowers off to me, or I simply collect them the next day when packing down your wedding flowers, whichever has been agreed with you. I’ll give you all the details when you book your wedding flowers.

  2. The drying process begins
I gently take your bouquet apart and naturally press your wedding flowers using a traditional flower press. This helps preserve their shape, colour, and character as best as nature allows.

  3. Your flowers are thoughtfully re-designed
Once dry, I rearrange your flowers into one of our signature styles, created to look artful, intentional, and true to the original spirit of your bouquet.

  4. Framed and finished by hand
Your preserved bouquet is carefully framed using the highest quality materials, ready to hang in your home as a one-of-a-kind keepsake.

Final thoughts

Bouquet preservation is more than drying flowers, it’s keeping a moment.
If you want a wedding flower keepsake that feels personal, artful, and grounded in nature, then yes, preserving your bouquet is absolutely worth it.
